Long ago, the roads of the kingdom were safe...

But The evil Warlock Malgrin has convinced the Royal Lizards to join his army of goblins, bats and slime. He is on a conquest to eliminate King Kalios and take over all of Agrobar! You have been anointed the Royal Pathguard and must use your tower building skillz to defeat the many waves of enemies...

Build towers, uncover treasure, and stop the hordes before they reach the gates. Push through 20 levels across three regions to face Malgrin himself.

🎮 CONTROLS

Arrow keys — move the selector

❎ (X) — build / confirm / collect

🅾️ (O) — back / cancel / start wave

⚔️ HOW TO PLAY

You start each level with 20 HP and 90 gold. Every enemy that reaches the exit costs you 1 HP (bosses more). Lose all your HP and it's game over. Survive every wave to win the level.

Building towers

Move the selector onto a grass or hill tile.

Press ❎ to open the tower menu.

Press ◀ ▶ to cycle towers, then ❎ to buy (or 🅾️ to back out).

Hill tiles give bonus range — build your heavy hitters there.

Starting waves

Between waves a timer counts down and the next wave starts automatically.

Impatient? Press 🅾️ twice to start the wave early — and you'll get +1 bonus gold for doing it!

Earning gold

Kill enemies (every kill pays gold).

Open treasure chests (see below).

💰 CHESTS

Some levels have treasure chests along the path:

Build a tower directly next to a closed chest — this pops it open.

Move your selector onto the open chest and press ❎ to collect 5–15 gold.

Don't forget step 2 — the gold isn't yours until you grab it!

⬆️ UPGRADES & SELLING

Every tower has a stronger upgraded form (Arrow → Ballista, Cannon → Bombard, etc.).

Move onto one of your placed towers and press ❎ to open its options:

Upgrade — spend gold to power it up (the upgrade must first be unlocked at a shop)

Demolish — sell it back for half of everything you invested

💎 EMERALDS & SHOPS

Completing a level rewards Emeralds, the kingdom's premium currency:

+1 for finishing

+1 for keeping over 50% HP

+1 for losing 2 HP or fewer

(Replaying a cleared level still pays a little, so you can grind if you need more.)

Spending Emeralds — visit the castles on the world map:

Pathguard Keep (your home castle) is open from the start.

Level shops appear when you complete the level next to them — the red tower turns blue.

Move onto a blue castle and press ❎ to enter.

In a shop you can spend Emeralds to:

Unlock new towers and upgrades (each shop sells different ones!)

Buy Health+ (+2 max HP, once per shop)

Buy gold bonuses for a better starting economy

🐉 KNOW YOUR ENEMIES

Armored enemies (lizards, golems) shrug off physical damage → hit them with magic or poison (poison ignores armor!).

Magic-resistant enemies resist magic → hit them with physical.

Flying enemies (bats, wisps, blood orbs) can't be touched by ground-only towers → you need Anti-Air towers or ranged physical.

Frost slows enemies hard — drop a slow field over your damage towers for max effect.

👑 THE FINAL BATTLE

Malgrin waits at the end of the road — but the kingdom won't face him unprepared. You must unlock ALL towers at the shops before you can march on Malgrin Castle. Free every tower in the Pathguard's arsenal, then bring the full might of the realm down on the warlock.

The fate of the realm lies along the path. Guard it well.
